I don’t think people realise how much I want a Bioshock propaganda poster..
“Fire at your Fingertips!”―Incinerate! Ad Copy
my favorite power! Like Colonel Mustang, but slightly different. I found Incinerate to be best when comboed with the shotgun or machine gun.
The Gatherer’s Garden from the fantastic game Bioshock. Finished and lookin’ good.
It didn’t take me two months to paint it, I’ve just been away from it for the past two months visiting friends and family. I’d say it took me about over 30 hours or so for the whole project.
First of all I take pride in the fact that this thing has as many little details as I could put in. the ridges in between the tiles to the individual letters of the sign. If there was a detail I could find, I did my best to put it in.
The whole figure is hand painted with acrylic paint and has three layers of satin glaze. The ADAM bottles, EVE syringe, first aid kit, and pipe are separate pieces that have been glued and glazed to the piece. Over the slots in the machine is a layer of plastic that acts as glass. The neon letters of the sign are made out of bent wire (Which I will add, was a pain). The neon letters were painted with a cool little neon pink paint I have that glows in black light. Figured that would be a neat little touch. The blood on the floor is part of a quote from Dr. Steinman. The full quote is “ADAM denies us any excuse for not being beautiful.”
Now, I feel the need to point out some weak points it has. If somebody buys this, I want them to know that there are some flaws. I’m afraid the structure is a bit fragile in a few places. The main skeleton, if you’ve seen my building progress shots, is built like a brick house. If the whole thing was dropped, it should survive with just a few scratches (I assume, I’m not gonna drop it on purpose). Once again, The ADAM bottles, EVE syringe, first aid kit, and pipe are separate pieces so they can be broken off if you put too much pressure on them. The glass panels may also come off if you press too hard on them as well.
So now that all of that is out of the way, I am open to selling this. So if anybody is interested in buying it, let me know. I’ve never sold one of my figures before so this is a big leap for me. I’d especially love some help from other artists who have some opinions of what I should sell it for.
Since this is a repost from my main blog and I finished this up about five months ago, there’s been an update! I’ve already sold this baby and it’s sitting on a Bioshock collector’s shelf. It’s in a glass case and everything! So yay! Next Bioshock related things that I’ll work on will probably be a Ammo Bandito/Circus of Values machine.
If anybody wants to know more about the building process of the Gatherer’s Garden, here are my previous posts about it.O MY GOD! This looks so good!

In BioShock, Insect Swarm is one of two Plasmids (the other being Target Dummy) that the player casts with both hands.
